Eternal Bubbles!

Way back when...back when we opened Jinsei in 2006 (can you believe that's been almost five years ago?), an importer gave me a wonderful collection of prestige cuvee Champagnes, including a 1995 Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame Rose of which I am sipping as I type.
Remember we can't move all this good stuff in the heat, so we're doing some drinking before we go.

So why tell you this? Well, it's not to rub it in that I'm drinking something way better than what I can afford or deserve, nor is this some sick way to be an all-out sycophant.
I tell you because this champagne is a supreme treat, and also because it serves as a perfect segue to discuss a theological issue of the highest importance.

Therefore, as delicious - as extraordinary - as this coupe de Champagne truly is, I must draw our attention to the earth's greatest meal: the Eucharistic feast of the Altar.

It is true that this Champagne has a richness and an extraordinary dimension of depth, giving off long-lasting hints of brioche, pear, and cinnamon butter; however, it is all the more true that in the Sacrament of the Altar we are given something much richer, much more extraordinary. We are given the only thing that matters, "the better portion", which is none other than our Lord Jesus Himself!

Adoremus in aeternum sanctissimum Sacramentum
(Let us forever adore the Most Blessed Sacrament!)
